DigiLens Helps Transform Enterprises Through 3D Visualization and Real-Time Collaboration Capabilities on ARGO with Hololight

DigiLens will deliver multimillion polygon models to mobile extended reality (XR) hardware, enabling workers to seamlessly visualize and collaborate in real-time to perform a wide array of tasks, improving efficiency and decision-making. This includes allowing customers to stream Omniverse content and 3D models to ARGO with Hololight streaming, enhancing interactive experiences and operational workflows.

Sunnyvale, CA – September 23, 2024: DigiLens Inc., a leading nanotechnology innovator in waveguide display technologies and XR smartglasses, announced today it is bringing complex, high-fidelity, multimillion polygon models to DigiLens ARGO™ smartglasses in collaboration with Hololight. Transforming how industries engage with 3D content and enabling real-time collaboration on mobile XR hardware will allow workers to shift from workstations to enterprise-grade XR smartglasses, as high-quality 3D assets can now be securely visualized anytime and anywhere, enhancing design and engineering processes. Workers can visualize and collaborate in real-time to perform tasks like reviewing designs, planning factory layouts, assessing risk, quality assurance, and more to improve decision-making.

Most mobile XR devices have only been able to render up to one million polygon models natively and run into issues like overheating and greatly reduced battery life. ARGO’s all-in-one system paired with the NVIDIA Omniverse™ platform and Hololight Space means ARGO can support more robust 3D models — up to 30M polygons tested so far — without quickly overheating and draining power. Omniverse, a platform for developing OpenUSD applications for industrial digitalization and generative physical AI, renders the complex models. Hololight Space’s integrated proprietary streaming technology, Hololight Stream, enables highly secure, high-fidelity visualization without the need for data optimization on ARGO.

“Our work with DigiLens allows us to push the boundaries of 3D visualization and real-time collaboration. With Hololight Space, users can now securely experience unprecedented high-fidelity 3D content on ARGO, revolutionizing the way industries design, plan, and innovate,” said Florian Haspinger, CEO of Hololight. “ARGO’s all-in-one system and Hololight Space’s seamless integration with NVIDIA Omniverse will help set a new standard for 3D content management and visualization.”

ARGO is the first purpose-built, standalone AR/XR device designed for enterprise and industrial-lite workers. NVIDIA Omniverse enables developers to easily integrate Universal Scene Description (OpenUSD) into existing software tools and allows users to enhance their 3D applications and deploy them anywhere from NVIDIA Omniverse Cloud. Hololight Space is a leading industrial augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) software for seamless 3D data visualization.

By offloading the processing to Omniverse and leveraging Hololight Space to visualize and stream high-fidelity 3D content to ARGO effortlessly, users will have a centralized repository for all their assets and can take advantage of the security benefits of not having the content stored locally on the device. Workers can utilize ARGO’s spatial capabilities to walk around, interact with, and view different layers and details of complex digital twin models such as jet engines, machinery, hospital scans, and more.

“Hololight’s streaming solution integrated with NVIDIA Omniverse unlocks new possibilities for digital twin models in hyper-scaled environments for many use cases,” said Nima Shams, DigiLens VP and GM of Product Engineering. “Up to now, AR products were rooted for consumer solutions. DigiLens has developed a purpose-built solution platform, tailored for industrial markets, that’s poised to become the primary choice for workers.”
